Interim Senior Accountant

Fixed Term | £55,000 per annum

We are delighted to be assisting a valued client to find a talented and experienced accountant with a strong practical understanding of a manufacturing finance environment for a minimum of six months.

If you have an eye for detail and genuinely enjoy the nuts and bolts of manufacturing accounts, this could be a great opportunity to join an experienced, close-knit finance team in a busy and upbeat environment.

You’ll be joining at an important time for the business, providing additional expertise and support through a particularly busy period. This is very much a hands-on role for someone happy to roll their sleeves up, work across different areas of finance and quickly become part of the team.

The Job

  • Support preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Assist with month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Input financial information into the group consolidation system, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
  • Support preparation of rolling forecasts, budgets and ad hoc financial reporting
  • Provide practical business partnering support across the operation
  • Support transactional finance processes where required
  • Work closely with finance and operational colleagues to provide accurate and useful financial information
  • Provide continuity and additional support during a period of systems and business change
  • Get involved across the finance function wherever your knowledge and experience can add value

Person Specification

  • Professional accounting qualification, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is desirable
  • Strong practical accounting experience gained within manufacturing or a similar operational environment
  • Good understanding of management accounts, month-end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Self-motivated, proactive and happy to take a hands-on approach
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Comfortable working through change and adapting as business priorities evolve
  • Genuine team player who enjoys being part of a close-knit working environment
