We are delighted to be supporting this successful care organisation based in Cardiff to help recruit an experienced senior payroll professional.  The business is focussed on the provision of professional, qualified, and supportive care services across Wales and the southwest

This newly created role reports into an experienced Head of Finance who has a thorough understanding of payroll operations. As the new Senior Payroll Manager, you will have two direct reports who carry out day to day payroll activities. As well as being someone who enjoys the challenge of improving practices and procedures you will thrive when taking a hands-on approach to your work.

The job

• Oversee and manage the all-payroll processes for multiple entities (including P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements)
• Ensure consolidation and automation of payroll processes across the organisation
• Proactively identify, implement, and drive process improvements working closely with the finance team
• Collaborate with other teams, including HR, to ensure seamless payroll operations and ensure a people centric approach to work.
• Use expertise in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance across the entire organisation
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of payroll assistants to deliver accurate and effective payroll systems

The person specification

• 10 years + payroll experience having managed 500+ people payroll
• Strong payroll systems skills
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and regs
• Demonstrable communication skills and experience of working at a managerial level
• Project skills
• People management skills

Salary & benefit

• Salary is £55,000 pa
• Free on-site parking and uniform
• Death in service x 3
• 25 days holiday plus 8 bank hols increasing up to 30 days with service
