Organisational Development Lead

Permanent | £45,000 per annum

We are delighted to be working with a Bristol based client to find their new Organisational Development Lead. This is a key role involved in delivering the people strategy and we are looking for a solutions focussed individual to join a talented HR Team.

As an organisation that is focussed on creating a people-centric approach, this role will involve working proactively and progressively with the HR Team and other leaders, to ensure that all planned activities are designed to support and enhance the development of its people.  With a diverse workforce operating across the Bristol area, this role would suit someone with proven skills in managing change and L&D strategies.

Working for a collaborative Director of People with a clear vision of success, this role offers the chance to be part of a HR team which is focused on excellence. The people team is office based Monday and Tuesday with the flexibility to work from home for the remainder of the week, incorporating on site meetings when needed.

The job

With an obvious passion for working with people, a natural curiosity for continuous improvement methods and excellent communication skills, the Organisational Development Lead is responsible for the consistent delivery of key performance indicators (KPI’s), and the overall performance of the L&D team.  The key areas of responsibilities in this role are:

  • To lead on an organisation wide approach to learning and development, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • To understand skills, conduct gap analysis and develop learning interventions that improve organisational performance.
  • To increase leader and management effectiveness.
  • To build external partnerships and design programmes that support development pathways and succession planning.
  • To promote a learning culture.  
  • To ensure EDI is an effective and authentic foundation of the business.
  • To lead and support the delivery of initiatives which enhance employee wellbeing.
  • To measure employee engagement and drive improvements to create a great colleague experience.

The person specification

  • CIPD (Level 7) qualified in general HR practice or demonstrable equivalent HR/OD experience at a senior level.
  • Experience of successfully designing, delivering and evaluating a range of OD/leadership/talent interventions to deliver improved outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing a strategic approach to learning and development function that reflects the needs of the organisation.
  • Significant experience of developing and delivering high quality training and cost-effective programmes to a variety of audiences, on time, on budget, with an understanding of different learning models and delivery techniques.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of best practice and innovation in learning and development.
  • Understanding of organisational culture on performance and productivity, particularly management and leadership development.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing effective leadership and management development programmes.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of using a learning management system (LMS) to support talent management.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of various learning methodologies, apprenticeship programmes, funding programmes, awarding bodies (such as IiP) and best practice.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the stages of the employee lifecycle.
  • Ability to work in partnership with other key roles in the people team to improve the colleague experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the key drivers of employee engagement.

  • Salary on offer c£45,000 pa depending on experience
