Eighteen months on from becoming a finalist for the Wales Start-up awards, we’re delighted to have moved into new offices in the Maltings, launched a brand new user-focused website and appointed a third recruitment partner to help manage the growing demand for our services.
With over 14 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, Jenny Griffiths (pictured above) will be responsible for helping businesses across south Wales recruit qualified accountancy, marketing and HR professionals.
“I am thrilled to have joined the Sitka team,” says Jenny. “I have followed their journey and growth over the last two and a half years and feel very proud to be part of such a well thought of and successful business.”
Sitka’s refreshing approach combines traditional recruitment and ‘search and selection’ techniques to enable them to offer, as one of our clients puts it, ‘the bespoke, personalised service which can be missing in the wider recruitment market’.
Now in our third year of business, we’re on track to increase our turnover by 50% this year. This success is largely down to increased concern around the availability of skilled candidates.
More employers are choosing to partner with us because they realise that recruiting candidates with the right skills requires a more thorough search process than they can dedicate time to. That’s why we’re delighted to have Jenny on board and be working out of excellent and well-positioned offices in the Maltings to provide the value-added services these employers need.
Thanks to recommendations from happy clients, we’ve acquired an impressive portfolio of clients including Creditsafe, Acuity Legal and Cardiff and Vale College. Having Jenny on board will enable us to support more organisations.
Karen Birch, who co-founded Sitka with me says: “Our priority is to get every appointment right first time, and this role was no exception. Jenny’s values, expertise and professional approach are ideally suited to Sitka’s ethos and have enabled her to fit seamlessly into the team. We’re delighted to be working with her.”

My recruitment experience with Sitka has been brilliant. I was dealing with Karen who is so friendly and attentive. She really listened to what it was I was looking for and put me forward for a role I am now in and love.
I felt like they truly cared and weren’t just trying to fill vacancies as quick as possible. Other agencies kept suggesting roles I had already said I wasn’t interested in. This wasn’t the case here, and they really wanted to find the right person.
Ita took the time to understand my objectives and needs as a candidate also – something unusual for a recruitment agency.
Information was provided quickly, in full and was very clear. Ita also took the time to follow-up post interviews to understand how things went and confirm next steps/timeframes. She has also gone the extra mile of checking in with me since starting in my new role.
Ita approached every stage of the recruitment process in a professional, honest and open manner. It was clear she was committed to finding the right candidate for her client
I thoroughly enjoyed communicating with Karen and having her represent me. Karen was very hands on and made me feel very informed. Therefore I was able to relaxed and feel at ease during my interviews.
I had an excellent experience working with Sitka. They provided a far more personal approach than most recruitment companies, and they were very proactive in helping me find my new job.
Trying to find a new role can be quite a daunting experiencing, however what I found working with Karen is that her enthusiasm is infectious. Karen listened to what I had to say and we had a long and productive conversation about what I wanted and whether the role was right for me.
The whole recruitment process, led by Karen, was a really engaging and positive experience. I can honestly say it was the best interview I have ever had!
