Last week we were delighted to welcome our supporters, partners and friends to Jolyons at No. 10 to celebrate our first birthday.
In the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working with some fantastic businesses in Wales, including DevOpsGuys, Creditsafe, Acuity Legal, Tŷ Hafan, Cardiff & Vale College and the Wales Audit Office. And we seem to have had quite an impact.
When we set Sitka up, we made it our mission to challenge the stigma of recruitment. Over the past year we’ve worked tirelessly to prove that a valuable and rewarding recruitment experience is not only possible, but essential. As Rachelle Sellek of Acuity Legal says: “Karen and Ita took the time to listen to what I wanted, and just as importantly didn’t want. They seemed to immediately “get” our business.”
Without efficient recruitment, businesses simply won’t have the skills they need to innovate and grow. We strongly believe that it is employees that make a business and, for many, gives them competitive advantage. We genuinely care about doing things right.
We’re committed to supporting the wider Welsh business community and keen to give back. The event on 19th October gave us a chance to thank our supporters and welcome representatives from our nominated charities for the coming year: Tŷ Hafan and Llamau.
Claire Cooper, who we recruited to Director of Income Generation at Tŷ Hafan earlier this year said: “The experience I had as a candidate was a breath of fresh air. I owe Sitka a lot, because they got me my dream job. We are so lucky to have Sitka as our charity partner – we couldn’t take care of our families at Tŷ Hafan without business partners like Sitka.”
This is just the start for Sitka – we currently have some exciting plans with the University of South Wales and Llamau to look at improving soft skills in the workplace and other recruitment focused topics.
If you want to find out more about dealing with the changing face of recruitment, please register for our interactive workshop with USW Exchange on Monday 4th December.
The recruitment process was thorough and straight forward, and the quality of candidate provided was very good to say the least. The best thing about the recruitment process was, apart from explaining the job role and what we were looking for, I had little to do but to interview!
The process was thorough and very individual – time was spent finding out about the culture and style of the organisation and the exec team. Sitka worked with the candidates well to find the best fit for both employer and candidate. There was a sense of strong relationship building to ensure that this happened.
The whole recruitment process, led by Karen, was a really engaging and positive experience. I can honestly say it was the best interview I have ever had!
We liked Karen’s personal approach to finding the best candidate. She spoke to them in depth, matching the person to the business and vice versa, rather than just advertising the role to an existing database of job seekers. The process was very efficient and well-communicated from start to finish.
I was recommended Sitka by a mutual contact who thought Karen and Ita would understand our requirements and our organisation. I met with them and I definitely felt they were the right agency for us. The recruitment process was seamless, they made it very easy for me.
My experience with Sitka Recruitment was really positive. The team made me feel really valued and took the time to get to know me and career aspirations. I never once felt pressured, just well supported, listened to and understood. I would definitely recommend Sitka to my friends and colleagues.
Once again thank you for your time and ongoing support. Fantastic service and you made the experience so positive. You’re all clearly passionate about what you do and care about you candidates.
