Last week we were delighted to welcome our supporters, partners and friends to Jolyons at No. 10 to celebrate our first birthday.
In the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working with some fantastic businesses in Wales, including DevOpsGuys, Creditsafe, Acuity Legal, Tŷ Hafan, Cardiff & Vale College and the Wales Audit Office. And we seem to have had quite an impact.
When we set Sitka up, we made it our mission to challenge the stigma of recruitment. Over the past year we’ve worked tirelessly to prove that a valuable and rewarding recruitment experience is not only possible, but essential. As Rachelle Sellek of Acuity Legal says: “Karen and Ita took the time to listen to what I wanted, and just as importantly didn’t want. They seemed to immediately “get” our business.”
Without efficient recruitment, businesses simply won’t have the skills they need to innovate and grow. We strongly believe that it is employees that make a business and, for many, gives them competitive advantage. We genuinely care about doing things right.
We’re committed to supporting the wider Welsh business community and keen to give back. The event on 19th October gave us a chance to thank our supporters and welcome representatives from our nominated charities for the coming year: Tŷ Hafan and Llamau.
Claire Cooper, who we recruited to Director of Income Generation at Tŷ Hafan earlier this year said: “The experience I had as a candidate was a breath of fresh air. I owe Sitka a lot, because they got me my dream job. We are so lucky to have Sitka as our charity partner – we couldn’t take care of our families at Tŷ Hafan without business partners like Sitka.”
This is just the start for Sitka – we currently have some exciting plans with the University of South Wales and Llamau to look at improving soft skills in the workplace and other recruitment focused topics.
I have always dealt with Karen and have found the recruitment process generally excellent. The calibre of candidates has always been strong and the candidates also show enthusiasm towards the job and company they are interviewing for. I am very happy with the service we receive from Sitka and we have always appointed from the first round of interviews.
Karen was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, providing interview tips, personal help, and preparation before my interview. I felt that Karen genuinely wanted me to do well and get the job that I wanted.
The recruitment process was very straight forward and communication and updates were very regular. Sitka staff are very professional and have an excellent customer focus. They were extremely focussed on what WCR needed and gave us a great calibre of candidates. Sitka will be my first point of call when I’m next recruiting.
The process was thorough and very individual – time was spent finding out about the culture and style of the organisation and the exec team. Sitka worked with the candidates well to find the best fit for both employer and candidate. There was a sense of strong relationship building to ensure that this happened.
Having now worked with Sitka for a number of years, they have a real understanding of the type of people we employ and that the ‘fit’ is as important as having the right skills for the role. Sitka provide an excellent service and make you feel you are their only customer. They are quite unique and such a pleasure to work with.
This was the most professional recruitment processes I have experienced as a candidate. I felt really well prepared for the hiring process. Ita took the time to understand my experience and align my skills and values with those of role that I was applying for. This meant that I felt really prepared for the interview process and confident that I understood the role, culture and values of the organisation.
I would recommend Sitka and I would also consider using them as a client in the future. Having experienced their service as a candidate I have seen the effort that is made to ensure there is a good fit between candidate and client. Thank you Ita!
