Are you seeking a part time role in finance? We have a great role offering flexibility and the opportunity to implement new systems and processes into a growing business.

The business, established in 2010, is part of a network of over 40 other franchises operating nationally and has experienced continued success and growth.  As a result, it now seeks to recruit a skilled finance professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial duties and related admin.  The role reports into a hands-on Managing Director and joins a loyal workforce, based in Tredegar.  You would also benefit from the support of a talented Finance Director – based at the franchise group head office.

The role would suit someone who is proficient in using Xero and is able to produce meaningful and quality financial insights for the leadership team, to aid business decisions.  The ideal candidate would be someone who enjoys improving systems and processes, to improve visibility and maintain financial controls.

This role is offered on a part time basis, circa 27 hours with complete flexibility of how these are worked during the week.

The job

  • Managing day-to-day accounting cycle of purchase ledger, including reconciliation.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI's.
  • Support the Managing Director to develop and improve to the Company's financial and management accounting systems.
  • Preparing monthly payroll including pension contributions.
  • Manage the filing of all tax returns including VAT, payroll and corporate taxes.
  • Preparation of regular cash-flow forecast.
  • Preparation of annual budget.
  • Dealing with general finance queries.

The person specification

  • Have a proven track record in accounting with no less than 3 years’ experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Xero accounting software
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • A problem-solving approach to work
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to prioritising and organising work.

Salary & benefits

  • Circa £27-32,000 per annum FTE (dependent on experience)
  • 3, 4 or 5 day week covering 27 hours
  • Hybrid working following initial period to develop knowledge of systems and processes.
