Communications Manager

Permanent | £50,000 per annum

We are pleased to be working with this well known and respected public sector organisation in helping them find their new Communications Manager.

The job

  • Work closely with  senior staff to ensure the successful delivery of an external engagement strategy
  • Lead on strategic communication projects, and identify change and innovation 
  • Develop communication strategies to include, internal and external, digital media and engagement
  • Deliver a proactive and innovative media, marketing and public relation strategy
  • Ensure resources are effectively managed
  • Effectively manage the comms budget 
  • Directly manage a small communications team

The person specification

  • Ideally hold a degree level qualification in marketing, public/press relations or similar
  • Ability to create synergy amongst peers and senior management
  • Experience in managing people
  • Experience of working with with the media, demonstrating an understanding of digital platforms and social media channels
  • Experience of engagement at a local, regional and national level
  • Good understanding of current social media platforms
  • Sound knowledge of media legislation
